AGW Volunteer Committee

The AGW Volunteer Committee is made up of individuals who have an interest in art, learning, and doing. There are several volunteer opportunities at the Gallery. There are many committees working in several areas.

In the Uncommon Market Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is staffed by volunteers who assist a shop manager. The volunteer is asked to give a minimum of two scheduled time periods a month in order to become familiar with sales and shop procedure. The Art Rental & Sales department, in conjunction with the Uncommon Market, promotes the rental of art, not only for personal enjoyment, but also to the corporate community.

As a Staff Assistant
Volunteers enhance most areas through the gallery. The Information Desk Volunteers present an informative and inviting introduction for the gallery visitor. Gallery Docents receive briefings to become knowledgeable about the permanent collection and travelling exhibitions in order to conduct tours of the Gallery for school children and adults. The Resource Centre Volunteers are required to assist visitors in researching material for study or personal interest. Volunteers assist with AGW mailings. Our Telephone Committee Volunteers inform the membership of special needs and occurrences within the organization.
